If open curves appear closed in corel, check the TOOLS/OPTIONS/DOCUMENT/GENERAL dialog and make sure "Fill open curves" is unchecked.
And or set VIEW to WIREFRAME mode (to see only the actual curve geometry).
And or set the FILL COLOR of open curves to NO COLOR
NO COLOR is the color selector that has an X in it, which is usually right next to the black color selector,
If no color selectors are visible on screen you can hit WINDOW/COLOR PALETTES then make sure "RGB palette" is checked
Then you can select an object(s), then left click on a color selector to set the fill color, or right click on a color selector to set the outline color
Sometimes if you set fill color to none, you have to set outline color to something, or the object will be invisible in normal view mode.
