How perfect is plasma?
So I've been cutting less than 2 months and feel I am making pretty good progress. Reading many posts here which really are helping me learn. I just wish there was a Plasma CNC University or something to speed up the learning process.
Anyway, how perfect is plasma? I am getting jobs with small lettering, 1 to 1 1/2 inches or so and they look pretty good, but not perfect. I know I have a lot to learn and I'm not asking how to correct anything, at least not right now. I am just wondering if perfection with small letter is something achievable?

Re: How perfect is plasma?
It depends on what thickness you are talking about and how tight your machine is.
I cut this from 2mm stainless and the letters are 20mm tall, using 30a consumables, it's about as good as I can get.

Re: How perfect is plasma?
I am thinking that's pretty good. Then I went to a site to convert mm to inches and see that's about 3/4 inch and now I'm like, wow that's really good.
I've been using 16 and 14 gauge steel and letters are not as clean as that. I should receive my 30 amp consumables in a day or so. Hopefully they will make a difference.
Thanks for sharing that.

These medallions are for a customer who fab's roll cages. He wanted something to be able to tack onto the tube and bend it slightly to wrap around the tube. These are 2.75" wide by 1.75" tall and I feel they turned out as perfect as plasma can get.

Umm, no I think you have an extra zero in there.
Last time I checked, and well, Google checked too, 20mm tall is 0.787" tall.
Oh, and yes, it is nice work.

I have 2 large end wrench drawers in my toolbox, one for inch and one for metric. The metric drawer has double the wrenches and 3 times the money
You marry into the PlasmaCam family and must accept the fact your software and hardware are proprietary. It's a for better or for worse engagement with overwhelming security. PlasmaCam controls the computer, table, hardware to their advantage IMO.

That thing that you put into your shoe every day if it's 12 in. long must be a foot. Now 1/12 th. Of that is an inch.

Re: How perfect is plasma?
In the early days of courting my wife she wanted to be sure I could keep her happy and content, I told here no problem , I had half a foot that would serve her well and keep her content.
On our wedding night she was a bit pissed, I asked what was the problem. She replied " but you told me you had 6 inches" I replied "sorry to correct you dear but what I said was I had was like most blokes and had half a foot, in that it was half the size of my foot".
She then cried out " but you only take a size 4, I wish you'd answered in metric, 100 sound so much better than 6.
Worst part is now whenever I bring a mate home the first thing she does is look down at his feet

Never before have any of my posts traveled so far. Starting with how perfect to the eye is plasma, all the way down to the feet and halfway back up. Not too bad.
