Re: Overcut support on CandCNC Ethercut
Hi whiskeymike
the switch is a simple on/off toggle switch.
the wires from the switch go directly into the same terminals that are on the PWM for:
"ARC OK (TRANSFER)"
The original wires used by DTHC stay in place as well as the new wires from the switch (bottom right in picture)
I use it all the time on thinner materials, works a treat,
I turn the switch off when I have a delay programmed in from SheetCam and it works as normal sensing the arc.
Hopefully below is a picture of my set up (the additional red and black wires)

Re: Overcut support on CandCNC Ethercut
This evening, I've experimented with entering a negative value in SheetCam's "Overcut" field in an attempt to achieve what Jim said above (..."leaving a gap at the end of a circle (before 360 degrees)").
I haven't nailed it yet, but the results are quite promising.
This method allows you to leave the CAD files unchanged and has a very similar effect on the divots as the M10/11 "torch off early" commands.
Note: the value shown here is exaggerated for demonstrative purposes.

Re: Overcut support on CandCNC Ethercut
I found your post and looked in my Avid CNC Control box and found the ARC OK wires nicely labeled. I will be wiring up a switch parallel to that connection in the next day or so and give it a try. from your photos and comments it looks very successful. thank you so much for your help!exapprentice wrote: ↑Sat Oct 17, 2015 12:29 pm Hi everyone
following on from Toms suggestions above, I did "Jumper" across the "Arc OK" on the CandCNC PWM module and the divot at the pierce is noticeably smaller almost to the point of nearly gone, I have now cut more than a few open lines in the 0.9mm sheet of material and I am pleased so far with the quality of the cuts on open lines
I have now replaced the "jumper with a switch wired across the Arc OK terminals of the PWM, this way I can decide when and on what thickness materials I want to use it on
as I have already mentioned in an earlier post I don't think the divot issue is as pronounced on thicker materials and shouldn't be an issue if you are using lead in and lead outs on closed shapes.
I would recommend this tweak especially on open lines and the thinner materials, thanks again to Tom for chipping in and making his suggestions.
I will carry on testing and post back again
If anyone does get around to trying this out, please add your results to this topic for all to share
Best regards to all and thank you

Hi David
Hope you get it dialled in and sort out your divot problem
Have a great day
